Today obesity is a rapidly growing problem. We even see this occurring in young children. I feel there are lot things that factor into this problem. For one thing, citizen seem to be busier than ever before and this adversely affects the choices made for food selection and corporal activity. citizen are very concern about convenience and speed. Therefore, fast food sales are straight through the roof, because any given night, you will find families getting meals from these places. I recall during my day, when these types of meals were occasional and considered a treat. Other factor is the portions that are being served. citizen are very concerned with getting the most for their money and therefore feel good when they feel they are getting a “deal.” We know how the offer goes- for less than a dollar, you can make the meal larger or add some sides to your meal. All the while this may seem like an benefit for our wallet, it is a disadvantage for our health. Modern conveniences are also producing sedentary lifestyles in all ages. We have all the remote controls and gadgets that are hands can hold to do nearly everything.

Even in the workplace, there are Walkie-Talkies, email and instant messaging being used on a quarterly basis. This drastically cuts down on any efforts to get in any corporal operation in during your day. Children are addicted to video games and watching all the television they can take. It approximately seems rare to see children covering anymore, no matter how great the weather is outside. Sadly, I’m sure many children aren’t customary with the games like – Simon Says, mum May I, Hide and Go Seek, It, foursquare, kickball, tether ball, and a host of other games that I recall playing during the summer. This has led to children getting bigger and bigger because they are so inactive.

For example, I was shopping for bread recently and I decided to read the cusine label on the store brand bread, it had on the front that it was 98% fat-free, and once I compared the data to the name brand bread, I found they were similar, I saved .80 per loaf on this purchase. This works throughout the store. Other tip, look for coupons in your newspaper and also check on the internet to print coupons before you shop.

Purchasing a gym membership is great if you are committed to using it. For myself, having beloved classes scheduled, motivates me to go regularly. This does take time; therefore if this seems impossible, start with the easiest and cheapest exercise which is walking. You can select to enjoy a great walk in the morning, during your lunch time or in the evening. All you need are some comfortable gym shoes and comfortable clothes and you are starting your journey.
